DocsCold Replies in Your Inbox
Cold replies land in your existing email inbox under a Cold filter. Triage them, reply in thread, and promote good leads into the CRM
When someone replies to a cold sequence and it is not an automatic away message, you get a notification, whatever label the reply ends up with. The separate “interested” notification still fires on top of it for the replies that ask to move forward.
Your email inbox filter bar carries one three-way control: All, CRM, Cold. Choosing Cold narrows the list to inbound mail on the mailboxes your cold sequences send from. The Cold choice appears only for Ultra organizations that have Cold Outreach and for people whose role can see cold replies; without both, the control is the two-way All and CRM it has always been, with no gap where a third option would sit. Cold replies and the messages your sequences send both appear in your All view, marked with a Cold label, so a cold send shows up under Sent the same way any other message does. You can turn that off in email settings, which leaves them in the Cold view only. The CRM view never shows them. When you have more than one mailbox, the mailbox control above the list lets you choose which ones to show. Every mailbox is selected by default and the choice applies to every folder, so you can look at just your primary inbox, or hide cold outreach mail, in one click. (See Email Inbox for the full filter bar, including the mailbox control.)
A mailbox you use for cold sending receives everything, not only replies. Laureo sorts each message into one of five types: replies from a person, automatic away messages, delivery failures, other mail such as newsletters and vendor notices, and unsorted for anything it has not looked at yet. Other mail is tucked away in the Cold view so real replies are not buried; open “Other mail” any time to see it. A message that looks like a person writing back but that we could not tie to one of your leads shows under “Replies” with a “Match to a lead” button on it, if you want to connect it.
A reply we tied to a lead, and mail that carries an unsubscribe link or an automatic-mail header, are sorted by a plain rule rather than a guess, and everything left over is a best guess. Changing a type never sends anything and never stops a sequence, and away messages are still detected by the same rules as before, so nothing about out of office handling changes. A label we are unsure of is read a second time rather than handed back to you, so there is no list of labels waiting on you.
Laureo reads each cold reply and labels it with one intent. It reads the words the prospect wrote back and nothing else, so the subject line you chose and the rest of the thread cannot pull the label one way or the other. When it is not sure, it reads the same reply a second time, and that second answer is the label. If it is still unsure after that, the label is marked “AI, low confidence” and shown anyway. You can change any label yourself, and a label you set is never changed back. A reply with no readable text shows under “Unclassified”, so nothing goes missing. The label sits on the row itself, so you can prioritize the ones that matter. While the Cold view is on, a row of pills under the filter bar narrows the list to a single intent, with All intents to clear it again and Unclassified for the replies that carry no label. The labels are:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Interested | The prospect wants to learn more or move forward. Prioritize these. |
| Not interested | A clear no, with no ask to be removed. Someone who asks you to stop emailing is filed under "Unsubscribe request" instead, whatever words they use. |
| Objection | The prospect pushed back on something before committing. Answer it and keep the thread alive. |
| Out of office | An automated away message. No action needed; the sequence carries on, or pauses and resumes if you configured it that way. |
| Wrong person | They are not the right contact. Ask who is, or move on. |
| Unsubscribe request | The prospect asked to be removed. We take them out of your sequences, as described below. |
| Meeting booked | The reply confirms time on the calendar. Nothing more to chase. |
| Wants to meet | Someone asked for a call, a demo, pricing, or a proposal. The strongest signal short of a booked time, and it counts as a positive reply. |
| Question | Someone asked you something and is waiting for an answer. Worth a reply. |
| Not now | Someone is open to it later and asked you to circle back. Nothing stops and nobody is removed. |
| Replied | Someone wrote back but did not ask for anything and did not signal buying interest: a greeting, a thank-you, or a congratulation. Worth acknowledging. |
| Other | Not a reply from a person: a bounce, an automated notification, or content we could not read. |
Open a cold reply and the label on it is a button. It opens a short menu holding every label, so you can pick a different one or clear the label altogether. A muted line in the same menu says whether the label was set by AI or set by you, and once you set one yourself, neither read changes it back.
Replying to a cold reply works exactly like replying to any other email, and threading is preserved: your reply goes out from the dedicated mailbox that sent the original step, so the conversation stays coherent for the prospect. The AI smart-reply and CRM-context tools you use elsewhere in the inbox are available here too.
Turn an engaged lead into a real person, company, and (optionally) opportunity.
When a cold lead replies positively, promote them into your CRM directly from the reply:

If someone asks to stop, we remove them from your sequences straight away. When the reply is not clear cut we read it again before deciding. When we remove someone you get a notification. An admin can put them back from your opt-outs panel, one address at a time. If you would rather approve each one yourself, set reply opt-out handling to confirm and we will ask you first.
