What Is the AI Assistant?
The AI Assistant is a conversational agent built into your CRM that can search, analyze, and modify your data.
The AI Assistant is your CRM copilot. It understands your data and can help with day-to-day CRM operations and sales strategy:
- Search companies, contacts, deals, tasks, and calendar events
- Analyze pipeline health, at-risk deals, and performance metrics
- Create new companies, contacts, opportunities, tasks, and activities
- Update existing records (company details, deal stages, contact info)
- Advise on sales strategy, task prioritization, outreach planning, and workflows
What the AI Can & Cannot Help With
The assistant is focused on your CRM and sales workflows.
The AI can help with:
- CRM data lookups, searches, and analysis
- Creating and updating records
- Sales strategy and pipeline planning grounded in your data
- Email composition and reply suggestions
- Task prioritization and workflow improvement
- Understanding Laureo features
- Migrating data from other CRMs into Laureo
The AI will not:
- Generate code or technical scripts
- Provide medical, legal, or financial advice
- Answer general knowledge questions unrelated to your CRM
- Compare Laureo with competing products (except for migration help)
How to Open the AI Assistant
Access the assistant from the homepage panel, the sidebar, or with a keyboard shortcut.
Homepage Panel
On the homepage, a collapsed rail appears on the right side of the screen. Click the sparkle icon to expand the AI panel. The panel opens inline alongside your dashboard widgets.
Sidebar Link
Click AI Assistant in the sidebar under Workspace to open the full-page chat view with conversation history.
Keyboard Shortcut
Press Cmd+. (or Ctrl+. on Windows/Linux) to toggle the AI panel open or closed from any page.
Permission Modes
Control how much autonomy the AI has when modifying your data.
The AI Assistant has two permission modes, configurable from the panel header:
Ask Before Edits (Default)
Read operations (searching, viewing) happen automatically. Write operations (creating, updating) show an approval card where you can approve, edit, or deny each action.
Auto Edits
All actions execute without confirmation. This mode must be enabled by your organization admin in the admin settings.
Accuracy Disclaimer
AI responses should always be verified.
Below the chat input you'll see the notice: "AI can make mistakes. Always verify important information."
While the AI uses your actual CRM data for all responses, it may occasionally misinterpret context or suggest suboptimal actions. Always review proposed changes before approving them.
Panel vs. Full-Page Mode
Use the panel for quick questions, or expand to full page for longer conversations.
Panel mode — Appears alongside your dashboard. Best for quick lookups and simple actions while keeping your dashboard visible.
Full-page mode — Available at /ai. Includes a conversation history sidebar for managing past chats. Best for complex multi-step tasks.
Click the expand icon in the panel header to switch to full-page mode. Your current conversation carries over.
