DocsAI Assistant Overview
A durable CRM operator for reviewed Laureo capabilities, grounded in your access
Laureo operates the whole CRM with your own permissions, and answers how-to questions from this help centre.
The assistant, Laureo, is a CRM operator available in the side panel, in full-page chat at /ai, on the home dashboard, and inside supported record editors. It reads your data, prepares work, asks before it changes anything, and hands finished drafts to the editor they belong in.
It reaches the same surfaces you do:
- Customers: contacts, companies, deals, and the notes and activity on them
- Work: tasks, projects, your calendar and your meeting recordings
- Scheduler: booking pages, availability, routing forms and the bookings themselves
- Email: drafts, replies, scheduled sends, labels and threads
- Marketing: campaigns and cold outreach sequences, and the suppression and compliance surface around them
- Sales and billing: products and prices, quotes, invoices, payments, collections, and the goods lane of stock, purchase orders, vendors and sales orders
- Service: tickets, queues, macros and the knowledge base
- Messages: team chat, threads, reactions and deal rooms (text messages, WhatsApp and calls are outside the assistant)
- Insights: reports, dashboards, goals and the leaderboard
- Automation: automations, workflows and AI agents
- Settings and admin: your own preferences, the organization settings you are allowed to change, invitations and roles, credentials, and your own security posture
- Trust and escrow: client funds on account, for the organizations that hold them
- Navigation: ask it to take you to a page and it moves you there, using the same filtered list of pages your sidebar uses
- How-to answers: it searches these help articles and answers from them, with a link to the article it used
What Laureo Can Do walks through each of those areas in detail.
When it cannot do something, it says which gate refused rather than failing vaguely. The refusal names the reason: your role does not carry the permission, your plan does not include the capability, your organization has switched the action off, or the step is one only a person can take, such as entering a credential or clearing a multi-factor prompt. Each refusal points you at the place the block can be lifted.
The AI can help with:
- CRM data lookups, searches, and analysis
- Creating and updating capabilities that have completed operator review
- Sales strategy and pipeline planning grounded in your data
- Email composition and reply suggestions
- Task prioritization and workflow improvement
- Building booking pages, commercial drafts, and campaign drafts when the capability is available
- Understanding Laureo features and linking to the right human-only step
- Migrating data from other CRMs into Laureo
The AI will not:
- Generate code or technical scripts
- Provide medical, legal, or financial advice
- Answer general knowledge questions unrelated to your CRM
- Bypass multi-factor verification, external consent, provider identity checks, or credential entry
- Use classified app actions that have not completed operator review
Access the assistant from the homepage panel, the sidebar, or with a keyboard shortcut.
Homepage Panel
On the homepage, a collapsed rail appears on the right side of the screen. Click the sparkle icon to expand the AI panel. The panel opens inline alongside your dashboard widgets.
Sidebar Link
Click Laureo AI in the sidebar under Workspace to open the full-page chat view with conversation history.
Keyboard Shortcut
Press Cmd+. (or Ctrl+. on Windows/Linux) to toggle the AI panel open or closed from any page.
The full page, the side panel and the home widget all carry the same header controls, left to right. Each is icon only and names itself on hover and to a screen reader.
- Conversation history: opens your conversation list. A rail on a wide screen, a drawer or a bottom sheet on a narrow one.
- New chat: starts a fresh conversation. Nothing is deleted, and a run already going keeps going.
- Permission mode: the mode button described below.
- Help: opens this article. It is the one route to the help centre from the assistant.
- Preferences: on the full page, opens the chat settings drawer.
- Expand: on the panel and the home widget, carries the conversation you are reading to the full page.
- Close: hides the panel. Whatever it was doing keeps running.
Every assistant surface carries the same permission control in its header. The button shows the mode you are in and opens a two-option menu. On a phone the menu opens as a bottom sheet.
Ask before changes (the default, shown on the button as "Ask first")
Looking things up happens straight away. Changing anything asks you first, with a proposal card in the conversation showing the exact fields it is about to write.
Make changes automatically (shown on the button as "Automatic")
Changes are made without asking you first. Picking it asks you to confirm once, and while it is on, a short line beside the button reads "Changes apply without asking." so the mode is never silent.
Automatic has to be switched on for your organization first. Until an administrator turns it on, the option is visible but not selectable and reads "Turned off for your organization". It is never silently missing, and it never lets you pick a mode the server would quietly downgrade. Administrators turn it on in Settings > Company > Integrations > AI, under Automatic changes, with the checkbox "Let people turn on automatic changes".
Mode is per conversation. The mode a new chat starts in is a personal setting, covered in Chat Settings.
Below the chat input you'll see the notice: "Laureo can make mistakes. Always verify important information."
While the AI uses your actual CRM data for all responses, it may occasionally misinterpret context or suggest suboptimal actions. Always review proposed changes before approving them.
Use the panel for quick questions, or expand to full page for longer conversations.
Panel mode is a floating conversation available alongside supported app pages. On a phone it fills the screen. Closing it stops nothing: accepted work carries on and you can come back to it.
Full-page mode is available at /ai. It includes conversation history, content search, pinning, rename, archive, export, delete, and the Assistant work index.
Click the expand icon to switch views. Opening an artifact carries the same conversation and exact run cursor into the desktop dock or mobile sheet.
Embedded mode: On the homepage, the AI panel is embedded directly in the dashboard layout. On detail pages (companies, contacts, deals), the panel picks up the page context automatically and offers relevant suggestion chips.
