Fulfill goods orders — allocate stock, ship partially, and track backorders
A sales order tracks goods from accepted quote to delivery.
When a customer accepts a quote that includes physical goods, Laureo creates a sales order — the envelope that tracks fulfillment. The sales order knows what was ordered, how much remains to ship, and how much remains to bill, so shipping and invoicing can proceed independently and still reconcile.
Ship what you have; backorder the rest.
You don't have to ship everything at once. Ship the units you have on hand and the order's remaining to ship goes down by that amount; the rest stays open. If a line can't be fully shipped, the shortfall becomes a backorder, and the order's assignee is notified so they can chase stock. As you ship, the order moves through open, partially fulfilled, and fulfilled.
Each dispatch is a recorded shipment.
Each dispatch against a sales order is recorded as a shipment with a carrier and tracking number, and it draws the shipped units out of stock. A shipment moves through pending, packed, shipped, and delivered, giving you a per-dispatch trail.
