What Laureo can do automatically on your billing surfaces, and what always needs your approval
AI works inside your permissions — and never moves money on its own.
When Laureo helps with quotes, invoices, and other billing work, it acts as you — it can never do anything your own role and seat could not do, and it stays inside your AI cost budget. Within that boundary, the billing autonomy policy decides which low-risk actions Laureo may take on its own versus which it should propose for your approval first.
The policy only governs already-authorized, low-risk actions.
For routine, low-risk, reversible work — drafting a quote, adding a catalog line, updating a note — the policy can let Laureo act and simply tell you what it did. For anything with more weight, it presents an approval card: you see exactly what it intends to do and approve or reject it before anything changes. The policy never grants an action you aren't allowed to take; it only chooses between "do it" and "ask first" for actions you already could do yourself.
Laureo can't invent a price.
Every line Laureo adds to a quote or invoice must come from your real catalog — it cannot invent an off-catalog product or a made-up price. The figures are snapshotted from the catalog price you actually maintain, so an AI-assisted quote is built from the same numbers you would have picked by hand.
Administrators tune the policy in settings.
Administrators set the billing autonomy policy in Settings → Billing Autonomy — choosing which low-risk actions run automatically and which always wait for approval. The default is conservative: money-moving actions are strictly human-approved, and external sends always wait for a person. You can loosen the automatic side for routine work as your team builds trust in it.
