Resizable split panes, scroll behavior, and the three ways to reach Compose.
Two reading layouts — your choice persists across devices.
Toggle between two reading layouts from the Layout control in the toolbar, or set a default under Inbox options (the gear) → Email settings → Reading. Both the toolbar toggle and the settings control share one preference, so a change in either is reflected everywhere and syncs across devices.
In Split view, the dividers between the email list, the reading pane, and the CRM context panel are draggable. Your widths save automatically and sync across devices via the user_ui_preferences table.
Subject + headers scroll naturally with the body.
The reading pane uses a single scroll container. The subject, From/To headers, and email body all scroll together — no nested scrolls, no pinned subject row. The bottom of the email gives you a fresh Reply / Reply All / Forwardaction bar so you don't have to scroll back up.
A calm two-row bar — frequent actions visible, the long tail one click away.
The toolbar is organized into two rows. The top row leads with the Compose button (far left) followed by your inbox tabs (Inbox, Starred, Snoozed, Sent, Drafts, Scheduled, Done, Trash). The second row holds the All / CRM / Cold filter, the category Filter, Sort, Layout, search, and the gear.
Three ways to start a new email — pick whichever feels natural.
