Choose which five tabs sit in the bottom bar on your phone, and in what order

What the bottom bar is

The phone replacement for the desktop sidebar.

On a phone there is no sidebar. Navigation lives in a bar pinned to the bottom of the screen, holding five tabs plus a More tab at the end. The five tabs are the places you go straight to with one tap. More opens a sheet with the whole rest of the menu, grouped the way the sidebar groups it on a computer.

Out of the box the bar carries Home, Deals, My Work, Team Chat, and Email. If those are not the five things you open all day, you can change them.

Where to change it

One editor, reachable from your phone or from a computer.

From your phone. Tap More in the bottom bar, scroll to Customize navigation, and tap it. You land directly on the editor.
From anywhere. Go to Settings > My preferences > Appearance. The Mobile navigation section sits below the theme picker.

You can set it up on a computer

The editor is a normal settings section, so you can arrange your phone bar from a desktop browser and pick your phone up to find it already done. The setting is stored on your account, not in one browser, so it follows you to every device you sign in on.

Adding, removing, and reordering tabs

Two lists and a pair of move buttons.

The editor shows two lists. On the bar is what your phone shows today, in order, with the slot number beside each row. In the More menu is everything else you could put there.

Take something off the bar

Tap the filled checkbox next to a row under On the bar. It moves down to In the More menu and frees a slot. The page stays where it was in the More sheet, unless you have hidden that item in Customize navigation.

Put something on the bar

Tap the empty checkbox next to a row under In the More menu. It joins the end of the bar. If all five slots are already taken, the list tells you The bar is full. Remove a tab above to add one of these. and the checkboxes are inactive until you free a slot.

Change the order

Each row on the bar has an up and a down control, labelled Move earlier and Move later. Earlier means further left on the bar. The slot number next to the row updates as you go, so you can see the arrangement without leaving the page.

Use fewer than five if you want to

Nothing forces you to fill every slot. The line under On the bar reads 5 of 5 slots used, and it counts down as you remove tabs. A shorter bar gives the remaining tabs more room, and More still sits at the end.

What each control does

Reset to default	Puts the bar back to the standard five tabs in the standard order. It only touches the phone bar, so your desktop sidebar arrangement is left alone. The button is inactive while you are already on the default.	—

Plans and permissions

Why a tab you expected might not be offered.

The editor only offers destinations you can actually open. A page your role has no permission for, or one your plan does not include, is left out of both lists. If your plan or your role changes later and a tab you had chosen is no longer available to you, the bar does not leave a gap: it fills that slot from the standard set instead, so you always land somewhere useful.

Saving

No Save button, and a confirmation when it sticks.

Changes save themselves a moment after you stop tapping, so pressing Move later four times in a row is one save rather than four. A brief Saved confirmation appears next to the section title. If a save cannot go through, the list goes back to the arrangement that is really stored and tells you the change may not have stuck, so what you see is never a bar you do not have.

Your bar, not your team's

This is a personal preference. Changing your tabs affects only your own phone, and your teammates keep whatever they chose. It also changes nothing about permissions: promoting a page to the bar cannot open a page your role could not already reach.
