Set how your notifications inbox opens and lays out — default filter, row density, grouping, mark-read-on-open, and the delivery master toggles
Tune the inbox from a slide-in panel on the page, or from your notification settings.
Inbox view preferences control how your notifications inbox is presented to you — which tab it opens on, how tightly the rows are packed, how the list is grouped, and whether opening a notification marks it read. You can reach these preferences two ways, and they always show the same values:

| Default filter | Which tab the inbox opens on — All, Unread, Snoozed, or Archived. This just seeds the landing tab; you can still switch tabs at any time. A shared or bookmarked link that already carries a filter always wins over this default. |
| Row density | Comfortable or Compact spacing for each notification row. Comfortable gives each row a little more room; Compact tightens the spacing so more notifications fit on screen. Row text stays legible either way, and the density applies on both the mobile list and the desktop two-pane view. |
| Group by | How the list is grouped. Date keeps the familiar Today / Yesterday / This week / Older buckets with sticky headers; Type groups by notification type; Priority groups by urgency; None shows a single flat list with no group headers. |
| Mark read when opened | When on, opening or previewing a notification marks it read. Turn it off to keep a notification unread when you single-click to preview it or open its linked record, until you explicitly mark it read. Read state is always reversible with Mark unread. |
Master toggles for how you are notified, right where you triage.
The panel also surfaces three master delivery toggles so you can adjust the essentials without leaving the inbox. These write through to your notification settings, so a change here shows up on the Settings > Notificationspage and vice versa. The fuller controls — the per-type in-app and email matrix, the digest schedule, and the exact quiet-hours window — stay on that page; the panel keeps just the high-value switches plus a link out to the rest.

Changes save themselves and follow you everywhere.
There is no Save button. Every change you make autosaves the moment you make it, and a brief Savedconfirmation appears to let you know it stuck. Because the panel and the settings page read and write the same preferences, a change in one shows up in the other immediately — and because they are stored on your account rather than in the browser, they follow you to any device you sign in on.
