Approval settings

Choose which actions Laureo AI carries out on its own, and which it shows you first

What this setting does

It changes when you are asked, never what is allowed.

Laureo AI acts as the person using it. It can never do anything that person's own role and seat could not do, and turning something on here does not change that. What the approval settings decide is narrower and simpler: for the actions your team is already allowed to take, does Laureo AI carry them out and tell you, or show you exactly what it plans to do and wait for a yes.

Actions that cannot be undone always ask
Anything that leaves your organization or cannot be reversed by running it again always shows you the exact effect and waits for you. Sending an email, issuing a refund, disbursing funds, and changes to your account and billing are in this group. They are marked as always asking on the settings page, they have no control to change, and the rule is enforced in the database itself, not only on screen. No setting, on any plan, moves an action out of this group.

Ask first, or run without asking

Two choices per action, and the safe one is the default.

Every action that can be set starts at Ask first. Nothing becomes automatic because you upgraded, added a person, or connected an integration. You change an action one at a time, and the change takes effect on the next thing Laureo AI does.

Ask first means Laureo AI prepares the action and shows you an approval card with the exact change it wants to make. Nothing happens until you approve it.

Run without asking means it goes ahead and then tells you what it did. This is worth turning on for routine work your team would have approved anyway: creating a task, updating a record you already own, saving a draft. It is worth leaving off for anything a colleague would want to see before it happened.

Reading and drafting never needed approval

Some rows are listed as running without asking, and always were.

Looking something up, listing records, and preparing a draft change nothing, so they have never produced an approval card and there is nothing to approve. They are shown on the settings page for completeness, with no control, so you can see the whole picture rather than only the part that is adjustable.

Where to change it

On the AI settings page, for administrators.

Open Settings, Company, Integrations, AI and find When Laureo AI asks first. Actions are grouped by the part of the product they belong to, and each group shows how many of its actions currently run without asking. The section appears for administrators on the Business and Ultra plans. On every other plan Laureo AI keeps working exactly as before, with every action asking first, which is the same thing an organization that has never opened this page gets.

Who can change it

Administrators, and anyone you grant the permission to.

Only administrators can change approval settings out of the box. Because this decides when work happens without a person looking at it, it is not handed to sales, marketing, or service roles by default. If you want someone else to own it, grant them the AI Autonomy permission in Settings, Team & Roles. Everyone else can keep using Laureo AI normally; they simply cannot change what it does on its own.
