Money Approvals Preferences

Set your personal defaults for how the Money Approvals inbox opens — default status, money-out class, sort order, rows per page, and row density.

Two ways to open your Money Approvals preferences

Tune how the approvals inbox opens from a slide-in panel on the page, or from a full settings page.

Money Approvals preferences control how the approvals inbox opens for you every time you land on it — which status it pre-filters to, which money-out class it starts on, whether the newest or oldest requests come first, how many requests load per page, and how tightly the rows are packed. You can reach these preferences two ways, and they always show the same values:

  • The preferences panel — open it from the gear on the Money Approvals page (the inbox where you approve or reject large refunds and trust disbursements). It slides in from the right so you can change a setting and see it take effect the next time the inbox opens.
  • The settings page — go to Settings > Money approvals for the same controls laid out on a full page, useful when you want to review everything at once.
Your view, not the requests themselves
These preferences are personal to you and follow you across devices — they are stored on your account, not in one browser, so signing in anywhere brings the same defaults. Changing a default here only affects how the inbox opens for you; your teammates keep their own defaults, and nothing here approves, rejects, or changes an actual request. The shipped defaults reproduce the inbox exactly as it looks today, so leaving everything untouched keeps your current view.

View defaults

What the approvals inbox opens to when you land on it.

FieldDescriptionTypeDefault
Default statusWhich status the queue is filtered to on open: All, Pending, Approved, or Rejected. You can still switch the status tab on the inbox at any time — this just sets where it starts.DropdownAll
Default money-out classPre-filter the inbox to All classes, Refunds, or Trust disbursements. This control only appears if you are authorized to approve both refunds and trust disbursements; if you can act on just one class, the inbox is already scoped to it and this row is hidden.DropdownAll classes
Sort orderOrder requests by when they were raised — Newest first or Oldest first.SegmentedNewest first
Rows per pageHow many requests load per page: 10, 25, 50, or 100.Dropdown50
You only see the classes you can approve
The Default money-out class lens is only meaningful when you can approve both refunds and trust disbursements, so it appears only for those dual approvers. If your role covers just one class, the inbox already shows only that class and the lens stays hidden. Either way, the inbox never surfaces a request type you are not authorized to act on.

Notifications

Approval alerts live with the rest of your notifications.

Approval alerts — when a request needs your sign-off, or when a decision lands on one you raised — are governed by the Approvals category in your notification settings, alongside every other notification type. Rather than duplicate those channel toggles here, the panel links out to their home:

Approval notificationsWhen a request needs your sign-off, or a decision lands on one you raised. Opens your notification settings via the "Manage in Notifications" link, where the Approvals category controls the in-app and email channels.

Saving and syncing

Changes save themselves and follow you across devices.

There is no Save button. Every change you make autosaves the moment you make it, and a brief Saved confirmation appears to let you know it stuck (you may see a quick Saving… first). Because the panel and the settings page read and write the same preferences, a change in one shows up in the other right away — and because they are stored on your account rather than in the browser, they follow you to any device you sign in on.

Defaults, not locks
Everything here just decides where the approvals inbox starts. You can still change the status tab, switch the class filter, flip the sort, or load more rows directly on the page at any time — your defaults simply set the starting point each time you open Money Approvals.
