Acceptable Use Policy

Pending legal review.This policy is being finalized with our counsel ahead of the Cold Outreach launch. Until that review completes, your use of Laureo's email-sending features is governed by Section 4 of our Terms of Service, which this policy expands on.

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs how you may use the Laureo platform, and in particular its email-sending surfaces: the seat inbox, marketing campaigns, follow-up sequences, and the Ultra-only Cold Outreach module. It is part of, and incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service. Breaching this policy is a breach of those Terms. We may update this policy from time to time; material changes are notified the same way as Terms changes.

1. Permitted sending

You may send email through Laureo to recipients you have a lawful basis to contact, from mailboxes you own and have connected with your own credentials. Cold Outreach is for legitimate, relevant business-to-business outreach. Specifically, you may:

  • Send to business recipients where your message is relevant to their role and your outreach complies with the anti-spam and data-protection laws that apply to you and to the recipient (for example CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR and PECR, and equivalents).
  • Connect sending mailboxes on a Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 business account that you are authorized to use. Free or personal mailboxes are not eligible for Cold Outreach and are rejected at connect.
  • Include accurate sender identity, a real reply path, an honest subject line, and a physical postal address on every cold message.
  • Honor every opt-out promptly and keep your own suppression of people who have asked not to be contacted.

2. Banned conduct

The following are prohibited on every sending surface, and any one of them is grounds for enforcement up to and including account termination:

  • Deceptive subject or header lines.Faking a reply or forward thread (a "Re:" or "Fwd:" on a message that is neither), spoofing the sender, or otherwise misleading the recipient about who sent the message or why. Laureo warns you about deceptive subjects at compose time, but the ban is absolute regardless of any warning.
  • Harvested, scraped, or purchased lists. Sending to addresses you collected without a lawful basis, scraped from the web, or bought from a list vendor. You attest to your list source at import (see section 4).
  • Tampering with the controls Laureo enforces. Attempting to remove or defeat the unsubscribe link, the visible sender footer, the postal address, the per-mailbox pacing, the enforced sending caps, or the suppression list. These controls are not configurable away. Attempting to evade an enforced cap or a suppression entry — for example by rotating mailboxes to send past a cap, or re-importing a suppressed address — is a violation.
  • Unsolicited bulk email (spam), chain mail, or sending to recipients who have opted out or who you have no lawful basis to contact.
  • Sending content that is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes another party's intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Phishing, malware distribution, payloads, or links to malicious or deceptive destinations.
  • Impersonating a person, brand, or organization you are not authorized to represent.
  • Using Laureo to send on behalf of a third party in a way that hides the true sender, or reselling sending capacity in violation of your subscription.

3. Controls you cannot remove

Laureo enforces deliverability and recipient-protection controls as infrastructure, not as optional settings. On the Cold Outreach module these include a non-removable one-click unsubscribe (RFC 8058) and visible footer with a postal address, per-mailbox pacing and a managed ramp on new mailboxes, enforced sending caps, and an automatic pause when a mailbox's bounce rate climbs above a safe threshold. You cannot turn these off, and working around them is a violation of section 2. Deliverability on Laureo comes from a managed ramp and per-mailbox pacing, not from any service that would let you send past an enforced cap.

4. List-source attestation

When you import recipients for cold outreach, you attest that you have a lawful basis to contact them and that the list was not harvested, scraped, or purchased. This attestation is recorded with the import. A false attestation is a breach of this policy and of the Terms, and the records support our enforcement and any audit.

5. Enforcement

We enforce this policy proportionately, but reserve the right to act immediately where the conduct, the abuse signal, or the legal exposure warrants it. Our enforcement ladder is, generally:

  • Warning. We flag the issue and ask you to correct it.
  • Sending pause. We pause sending for the affected mailbox, sequence, or organization while we review.
  • Feature suspension. We suspend the Cold Outreach module or other sending surfaces for your organization.
  • Account termination. For severe or repeated violations, or where required by law, we terminate the account under the Terms.

A high bounce rate, a spam-complaint spike, an abuse report, or a mailbox-provider signal can trigger an automatic pause before any human review. Reinstatement is at our discretion and may require you to remediate the underlying issue.

6. Reporting abuse

If you receive a message sent through Laureo that violates this policy, or you believe an account is abusing the platform, report it to abuse@laureo.io. Include the full message with headers where you can — it helps us investigate and act quickly. For general questions about this policy, contact privacy@laureo.io.
