DocsTime Tracking & Invoicing
Log time against project tasks, keep billable and non-billable hours straight, and turn unbilled time into a draft invoice
Time is logged against the tasks of a project. Open a project task and use its Time tab to record an entry: how many minutes were worked, on which date, and whether the time is billable. You can also set an hourly rate for the entry. Billable is on by default, so a quick log captures billable work without extra steps.
The project rolls up its time so you can see the totals without adding them yourself. Logged entries are split into what has already been turned into an invoice line and what is still unbilled, and the unbilled billable time is summed for you. Non-billable time is tracked for your own record but is never turned into an invoice line.
When it is time to bill, use Generate invoice lines on the project. Laureo gathers all the unbilled billable time and creates a draft invoice for the project's company. Entries are grouped into lines by task and rate: each line shows the hours as the quantity and the rate as the unit price. The invoice opens as a draft so you can review and adjust it before sending.
Log billable time as the work happens
Record time on the project's tasks, leaving billable on for anything you intend to charge for.
Generate invoice lines
Choose Generate invoice lines. A draft invoice is created for the project's company, one line per task and rate. The invoice currency follows the project's currency.
Review and send the draft
Open the draft invoice, make any adjustments, and send it through the normal invoice flow. See Creating & Managing Invoices for sending and payment.
