Creating & Managing Projects

Create projects with tasks, stages, and assignments

Creating a Project

Add a new project to track delivery and implementation work.

1

Click "New Project"

Navigate to Projects in the sidebar and click the New Project button in the top-right corner.

2

Fill in project details

Enter the project Name, select the Company, choose a Pipeline and Stage, and set a Target End Date. The name field is required.

3

Assign a team member

Select a user from the Assigned To dropdown to designate who is responsible for the project.

4

Add tasks

Once the project is created, add tasks to break the work into manageable pieces. Tasks can be created directly from the project detail page.

5

Track progress through stages

As work progresses, update the project stage to reflect the current phase. Move through stages like Planning, In Progress, Review, and Completed.

Project Detail Page

View and manage all aspects of a project from its detail page.

Click on any project in the list to open its detail page. The detail view provides a comprehensive overview of the project and allows you to manage every aspect of it.

Detail Page Sections

  • Project Info — All core fields including name, company, stage, assignee, and target end date.
  • Tasks — A list of all tasks associated with the project. Create, edit, and complete tasks directly from here.
  • Custom Fields — Any custom fields configured for projects in your organization.
  • Activity Timeline — A chronological log of all activity on the project, including stage changes, task updates, and notes.

Adding Tasks to a Project

Break project work into individual tasks.

From the project detail page, you can create tasks that are automatically associated with the project. These tasks appear both on the project detail page and on the main Task Board, where they can be filtered by project. Each task can have its own assignee, priority, due date, and status.

Moving Through Stages

Update the project stage as work progresses.

To change a project's stage, open the project detail page and select a new stage from the Stage dropdown. Stage changes are recorded in the activity timeline so you can track when the project moved between phases.

Custom Fields

Add additional data fields to projects.

Custom fields allow you to capture project-specific information beyond the standard fields. For example, you might add fields for project budget, contract reference number, or client satisfaction score. Custom fields for projects are configured in Admin > Custom Fields.

Create projects from won opportunities
When an opportunity is marked as won, you can use the Create Project button on the opportunity detail page to automatically create a project linked to the same company. This streamlines the handoff from sales to delivery.
