Intercom vs HubSpot, and the all-in-one option
Intercom is a customer service platform priced per seat plus usage, with no sales pipeline on its pricing page, and HubSpot sells sales and service as separate Hubs. Laureo is one plan for the CRM, campaigns, quotes and invoices, with live chat and tickets on Business and Ultra.
Which is better, Intercom or HubSpot?
It depends on the job: Intercom is a customer service platform with no sales pipeline on its pricing page, and HubSpot is a CRM that sells its help desk in Service Hub Professional, from $90 a seat a month. For a small team that sells to and supports the same customers, Laureo puts the pipeline, campaigns, quotes and invoices on every plan and adds live chat and tickets on Business and Ultra, in the same product.
One customer, from the first chat to a paid invoice, with Intercom and HubSpot together and with Laureo alone:
| Step | Intercom and HubSpot | Laureo |
|---|---|---|
| A visitor opens a chat | Intercom Messenger, on every Intercom plan | Live Chat opens a ticket in the service inbox (Business and Ultra) |
| The chat reaches the CRM | Intercom's HubSpot app sends it one way; teammate replies sync once the conversation closes | The ticket is already in the CRM; a teammate links it to the contact |
| A deal and a quote | HubSpot pipelines; quoting on a Professional or Enterprise Revenue Hub plan | CRM & Pipeline and Quotes & Invoices on every plan |
| The follow-up | Sequences on Sales Hub Professional and Enterprise | Follow-up Sequences on Business and Ultra |
| The next ticket | Back in Intercom, or in HubSpot Service Hub | Tickets & Help Desk; a support email from a known contact opens a ticket on that contact |
Is Intercom cheaper than HubSpot?
Per seat it can be: Intercom Essential is $29 a month billed annually, or $19 for new customers, against $90 for Service Hub Professional, but Intercom adds usage such as $0.99 per Fin outcome and a charge per bulk email, and HubSpot adds a one-time $1,500 onboarding fee. Laureo includes monthly AI credits on every plan and, on Ultra, the resolution agent under fair-use limits, with no onboarding fee: Pro from $83.33/mo billed annually ($99.99 month-to-month), and Business from $166.66/mo billed annually with live chat and tickets.

| AI answers | $0.99 per Fin outcome | $0.50 per resolved conversation | Resolution agent included on Ultra; the AI Customer Support Agent is a paid Ultra add-on |
| AI help for agents | Copilot: 10 free conversations a month, then $29 per agent billed annually | HubSpot Credits at $0.010 each | Email drafting and suggested replies on every plan |
| Email campaigns | Charged per bulk email sent | Free branded sends, then Marketing Hub from Starter, with Professional from $800 a month | Campaigns on every plan |
Can you use Intercom and HubSpot together?
Yes, through Intercom's own HubSpot app, but it sends data one way, from Intercom to HubSpot, and syncs teammates' replies only once a conversation closes; for a two-way sync Intercom points to HubSpot's Data Sync app. That stack bills Intercom seats and HubSpot seats, such as Sales Hub Professional at $90 a seat a month, while on Laureo Business and Ultra each chat opens a ticket in the CRM, and once a teammate links the contact, the ticket shows the count and value of their company's open deals.
Intercom also says its HubSpot app may need a paid HubSpot account to reach all of its features.
