Migration Guide

Moving from your bookkeeping tools to Laureo

Every bookkeeping and invoicing product we can read, in one table: what its own download hands you, and what that download leaves behind. Your customers, your invoices and what you sell come across as files, and the tools a practice runs beside its ledger are listed here too.

After the move

Your records land in one database, and the AI can act on all of them. A sample prompt once you are in:

Hey Laureo, list every customer we brought across with an unpaid invoice older than a month, then draft a polite reminder to each one for my approval.

Good to know

  • One file can hold up to 10,000 rows.
  • One file can be up to 10 megabytes.
  • You can undo a move for 30 days after it finishes.
  • You can undo a single file import for 24 hours after it finishes.

How each one gets out

One row per product. What its export gives you is read from what Laureo actually recognises, and what stays behind is the same honest list the review screen shows you again before anything is written. The rows without a download of their own are here because checking and saying so beats leaving a product off the page.

  • People
  • We need either First Name and Last Name, or Company Name in the file before we can read it.
  • What this export gives us for invoices is too thin to rebuild here, so we leave it out.
  • This export does not include payments, so nothing of that kind comes across.
  • This export does not include quotes, credits, items, repeating invoices, bills, expenses and taxes, so nothing of that kind comes across.

  • Photos and files come over on their own.
Invoice Ninja
  • Invoices
  • Numbers in this file follow the currency format your company set, so a comma can be the decimal mark.
  • We wrote down what this download looks like from the published guides rather than from a file we have seen, so a column we do not recognise is possible.
  • Photos and files come over on their own.
QuickBooks Customer Contact List
  • Companies
  • We need Customer in the file before we can read it.

  • 6 columns stay behind because we keep one address for a company: Shipping Address, Shipping Street, Shipping State, Shipping City, Shipping Country and Shipping ZIP.
  • 1 column stays behind because we keep when a record was last changed here, not when it was changed in your old system: Last Modified.
  • 1 column stays behind because we keep when a record arrived here, not when it was typed into your old system: Create Date.
  • 1 column stays behind because the people who worked in your old system are not people here: Last Modified By.
  • 2 columns stay behind because we never bring card numbers across: Credit Card # and CC Expires.
  • 2 columns stay behind because the full name column already carries the person we create for this customer: Last Name and First Name.

  • Reports rather than lists: the services you sell, your proposal results, your revenue and your payment collections each come out on their own.
  • The proposal itself and the terms behind it have no published download anywhere in this trade, so a live agreement cannot be taken out at all.
Client Hub
  • Unknown. The published help centre could not be read from the outside at all, so treat this as unanswered rather than as a no.
  • Unknown, and we will not guess. Ask them for a download and send us whatever comes out.
