Migration Guide
Switch from Zoho Recruit to Laureo
Bring your clients, your candidates and your job openings across as spreadsheets, then connect your inbox and get an AI that works on all of it. Resumes and the submission history stay behind, and this page says so before you start.
After the move
Your records land in one database, and the AI can act on all of them. A sample prompt once you are in:
“Hey Laureo, show me every open role we brought across with no candidate attached, then draft a short update to each client owner for my approval.”
Good to know
- One file can hold up to 10,000 rows.
- One file can be up to 10 megabytes.
- You can undo a move for 30 days after it finishes.
- You can undo a single file import for 24 hours after it finishes.
Why teams switch from Zoho Recruit
On Zoho Recruit
Your records come out as an archive rather than a file, so the first job of any move is unpacking it and working out which sheet is which.
With Laureo
Your records are yours on every plan, in one file per record type, named for what is in it and ready to send as it comes.
On Zoho Recruit
Resumes, notes and the submission history are not in the download at all, and nothing tells you that until you go looking for them.
With Laureo
We say what does not come across before you start, on this page and again on the review screen, so nothing goes missing quietly.
On Zoho Recruit
The recruiting product, the sales product and the mail all live in different places, and joining them up is a project of its own.
With Laureo
Everything lands in one connected database, and the AI drafts the reply, updates the record and queues the work for your approval across all of it.
Migration steps
Request the whole account download
Ask for everything rather than one list at a time. It arrives as a set of spreadsheets zipped together, one per record type.
Unzip it and read the file names
Unpack the archive first. The file names tell you which sheet is your clients, which is your candidates and which is your openings.
Count what you got
Open each sheet and compare its rows against the number your own list shows. It is worth ten minutes now rather than a surprise later.
Create your Laureo account
Sign up, name your organization, invite your team and set who can see what. This takes about five minutes.
Send the clients, then the candidates, then the openings
In Laureo, open Admin, then Import. Pick Zoho Recruit from the list and send the files in that order, so every candidate and every opening finds the client it belongs to.
Connect your inbox
Link Gmail or Outlook from your Laureo settings. Mail and calendar sync live and attach themselves to records by address, so past correspondence is not part of the spreadsheet work at all.
Check it, then go live
Spot check what landed, send a test email and compare your totals against the counts you wrote down. If something is wrong you can undo the move inside the undo window listed in Good to know above, and the undo screen names anything it cannot take back out before you confirm.
What comes across
This list is generated from what Laureo actually reads out of a Zoho Recruit export, so it cannot promise you more than the product delivers.
| What you send | Where it goes |
|---|---|
| Clients | Companies |
| Candidates and contacts | People |
| Placements | Deals |
What is not coming across.
- Resumes and attachments do not come across. Every file stays on the profile you exported it from, so keep that account open until you have downloaded what you need.
- Notes and activity history do not come across. Calls, emails and the running commentary on a candidate stay where they are.
- The interview and submission history does not come across. Submissions, interview stages and send outs have nowhere to land here, so a candidate arrives with the stage you gave them and nothing behind it.
- Your download does not carry the files themselves. Bring them over in a second step: send us a zip of the files and a list saying which record each one belongs to.
- There is no separate place for candidates in Laureo. A candidate arrives as a person, with the stage they had and their labels as tags, and that is deliberate rather than a gap we are filling next.
- A client keeps its name, how to reach it and who owns it. Agreements, rate cards and the paperwork attached to the client do not come across.
- A placement keeps its title, its client, its money and its dates. Splits between recruiters, time cards and invoices do not come across.
- The export arrives as a set of spreadsheets zipped together, one per record type. Unzip it first and bring the files across one at a time.
- Photos and files come over on their own. One move brings over 2 GB and 500 files.
