Migration Guide
Switch from Loxo to Laureo
Bring your companies and your people across as two spreadsheets, then connect your inbox and get an AI that works on both. Work history, education and every hidden column stay behind, and this page says so before you start.
After the move
Your records land in one database, and the AI can act on all of them. A sample prompt once you are in:
“Hey Laureo, show me every company we brought across with nobody on the record, then draft a short note to each owner asking who to speak to.”
Good to know
- One file can hold up to 10,000 rows.
- One file can be up to 10 megabytes.
- You can undo a move for 30 days after it finishes.
- You can undo a single file import for 24 hours after it finishes.
Why teams switch from Loxo
On Loxo
Only an administrator can run the download, it arrives by email rather than as a file you clicked for, and profiles sourced inside the product are capped every 30 days.
With Laureo
Your records are yours on every plan. Download them whenever you want, in a file you can open, with nothing to request and nobody to ask.
On Loxo
The file holds only the columns that were on screen when it ran, so anything anybody hid is missing from the file itself and no importer can put it back.
With Laureo
We say what does not come across before you start, on this page and again on the review screen, so nothing goes missing quietly.
On Loxo
Work experience and education are not in the download at all, so nothing about a career before today survives the move.
With Laureo
Everything that does come across lands in one connected database, and the AI drafts, updates and queues work for your approval across all of it.
Migration steps
Get an administrator to run it
The download is not offered to anybody else. Ask whoever runs your account to do it, or have them raise your own account for the afternoon.
Show every column before you export
Only what is on screen comes out. Turn every hidden column back on in your list view first, because a column left off is missing from the file rather than merely unmapped.
Download your companies, then your people
Run both lists. The file arrives by email rather than as a download, so watch for it and save both as they come.
Ask about the size of your account
Above a certain size the download may come a page at a time. Ask their support what that means for your account before you start rather than after.
Create your Laureo account
Sign up, name your organization, invite your team and set who can see what. This takes about five minutes.
Send the companies, then the people
In Laureo, open Admin, then Import. Pick Loxo from the list and send the company file first, so every person finds the company it belongs to.
Connect your inbox
Link Gmail or Outlook from your Laureo settings. Mail and calendar sync live and attach themselves to records by address, so past correspondence is not part of the spreadsheet work at all.
Check it, then go live
Spot check what landed, send a test email and compare your totals against the counts you wrote down. If something is wrong you can undo the move inside the undo window listed in Good to know above, and the undo screen names anything it cannot take back out before you confirm.
What comes across
This list is generated from what Laureo actually reads out of a Loxo export, so it cannot promise you more than the product delivers.
| What you send | Where it goes |
|---|---|
| Clients | Companies |
| Candidates and contacts | People |
What is not coming across.
- Resumes and attachments do not come across. Every file stays on the profile you exported it from, so keep that account open until you have downloaded what you need.
- Notes and activity history do not come across. Calls, emails and the running commentary on a candidate stay where they are.
- The interview and submission history does not come across. Submissions, interview stages and send outs have nowhere to land here, so a candidate arrives with the stage you gave them and nothing behind it.
- Your download does not carry the files themselves. Bring them over in a second step: send us a zip of the files and a list saying which record each one belongs to.
- There is no separate place for candidates in Laureo. A candidate arrives as a person, with the stage they had and their labels as tags, and that is deliberate rather than a gap we are filling next.
- Work experience history and education profiles are not in the export at all, so nothing about a career before today comes across.
- Only the columns that were on screen in your list view when you ran the export are in the file. Anything you had hidden is missing from the file itself and there is nothing we can do about that on our side.
- A client keeps its name, how to reach it and who owns it. Agreements, rate cards and the paperwork attached to the client do not come across.
- Only an administrator can export here, and the file arrives by email rather than as a download.
- People that came from this product's own sourcing tool are capped at 500 profiles every 30 days and the cap cannot be worked around, so a full move may need more than one month.
- Above roughly 15,000 records the export may be restricted to a page at a time. Ask their support before you start rather than after.
- Photos and files come over on their own. One move brings over 2 GB and 500 files.
