Switch from Karbon to Laureo
Bring your client organizations and their contacts across as two spreadsheets, then connect your inbox and get an AI that works on both. Work items, repeating work and the mail threads behind them stay behind, and this page says so before you start.
After the move
Your records land in one database, and the AI can act on all of them. A sample prompt once you are in:
“Hey Laureo, show me every client we brought across with no contact person on the record, then draft a short note to each owner asking who to speak to.”
Good to know
- One file can hold up to 10,000 rows.
- One file can be up to 10 megabytes.
- You can undo a move for 30 days after it finishes.
- You can undo a single file import for 24 hours after it finishes.

Migration steps
Use an administrator login
The download icon is not there without one. Ask whoever runs your account to do this, or to raise your login for the afternoon.
Open your contacts and download them
Go to your contacts, use the download icon and choose what you want out. A spreadsheet saves to your computer.
Take the organizations and the people as two sheets
Both come out of the same place. Save them separately if you can, because the organizations go in first and the people attach themselves to them.
Save your reports while you still can
Your contact list and your reports are what you can take out. Run and save the reports you rely on now, because there is no later.
Create your Laureo account
Sign up, name your organization, invite your team and set who can see what. This takes about five minutes.
Send the organizations, then the people
In Laureo, open Admin, then Import. Pick Karbon from the list and send the organizations first, so every person finds the client it belongs to.
Connect your inbox
Link Gmail or Outlook from your Laureo settings. Mail and calendar sync live and attach themselves to records by address, which is how the correspondence you thought you were losing comes back.
Check it, then go live
Spot check what landed, send a test email and confirm your client count matches the sheet you sent. If something is wrong you can undo the move inside the undo window listed in Good to know above, and the undo screen names anything it cannot take back out before you confirm.

This list is generated from what Laureo actually reads out of a Karbon export, so it cannot promise you more than the product delivers.

What is not coming across.
- Work items, recurring work, email threads and client requests have no published download in your old system, so we cannot bring any of them across. Your contact list and your reports are what you can take out.
- The email threads sitting against each contact stay behind with them. We bring across the contact, not their history.
- Open Contacts, use the download icon and choose what you want out. A spreadsheet saves to your computer.
- You need an admin login for that download. Without one the icon is not there.
- Organizations and people come out of the same place. Send them as two sheets if you can, and we take the organizations first.
- Photos and files come over on their own. One move brings over 2 GB and 500 files.
